Bar Cleveland sits right on a busy intersection just to the west of Sydney's Entertainment District. You can sit outside on the patio with a jug of cold beer while you watch Sydney's notorious drivers manage the Cleveland Street and Bourke Street intersection. And you can jump right off the M20 bus on your way into the Sydney Cricket Grounds to get to this bustling Surry Hills tavern. The Cleveland Tavern was originally known as the Cleveland Inn when it opened its doors in 1912. But a recent renovation forced the name to be changed to Cleveland Tavern. And that recent renovation has done wonders for this local pub. You'll find a modern interior to this old-school building where you'll find dark colours, dim lighting and warm, velvet seating. There's also an open dining room with high-top tables and leather couches. And you can enjoy hearty pub food in the Cleveland Tavern. The menu features pub staples like fish and chips, schnitzels and parmy's, but there is a real focus on burgers. There is an entire section of the menu devoted to the burger where you'll find the mega-Cleveland, the sriracha pork burger and the steak sanga. There's always a steak lunch special during weekdays, but you can mosey on down to the Cleveland to get schnit-faced on Monday and Tuesday nights with deals on schnitzels. Wednesday and Thursday gets you a deal on pies while Friday is burger day. And there are always great deals to be had on jugs of beer.
