The Swiss Mountain Hotel is a labour of love for the Frangos Family. The family's style and sophistication have become iconic in Daylesford. The goal of the renovation to the Swiss Mountain Hotel is to revive the town of Blampied by giving locals and visitors a historic location to grab a pint. This beautiful and iconic hotel deserves to be kept alive. The Swiss Mountain Hotel keeps some odd hours. The hotel is closed on Mondays and opens at 4 PM on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the hotel opens at 10 AM and stays open until late. On Saturday, the hotel opens at 9 AM and stays open until late. And the hotel keeps hours between 9 AM and 8 PM on Sundays. The menu is short and concise. The hotel serves up heaping portions of filling food for a good price. You can start off with twice cooked pork ribs with honey orange glaze, chicken liver pate, grilled halloumi, popcorn chicken or a grazing plate of olives and dips. The menu has a few pub classics like beer battered gummy shark, chicken parma, a steak sandwich or fried calamari. The mains include zucchini flowers filled with goat cheese, snapper fillet, roasted lamb or slow-cooked duck. And, as always, you'll find plenty of steak on the menu. There's even a delightful little kids menu making the dining area perfect for the whole family. You can find this iconic hotel right at the intersection of Treweeks Road, Midland Highway, Blampied-Kooroocheang Road and Daylesford-Clunes Road in Blampied, Victoria. The suburb is 120 kilometres northwest of Melbourne CBD and it's worth the trek to see this iconic building.
